KYIC
Overview
The Kamara Yokie Innovation Center (KYIC) is Sierra Leone's first youth-owned and youth-led innovation hub, co-founded by Abu Kamara and Hawa Yokie. The center creates a safe, multicultural space where innovators, creative minds, and problem solvers collaborate to tackle pressing community challenges.
KYIC works directly with schools and communities, delivering training in digital literacy, computer programming, robotics, electronics, 3D design, and drone technology. Notably, 70% of their programmes focus on girls — directly addressing gender gaps in STEM.
As Innovation Specialist at KYIC, Emmanuel contributed to both the technology strategy and the development of the center's digital presence, helping the organisation communicate its impact and reach new partners.
